When did you start CrossFit?
I first tried CrossFit back in 2010, and again in 2013.
Favorite movements?
Deadlifts … I LOVE deadlifts. Power cleans are starting to grow on me.
Least favorite movements?
RUNNING … and burpees, but who really “likes” those?
How did you end up at Jayhawker?
Andrew and I had worked out together on and off from 2009 until 2015. After my husband’s death in 2016, Andrew reached out knowing I’d need to get my life to recenter. I’m forever grateful that he did.
What keeps you coming back?
Andrew’s ability to coach and know how each person responds to certain things has always been something I admired. The community at Jayhawker is like a second family. They have seen me struggle and are always there to remind me it’s just one rep at a time. That can be applied to all things in life, really.
What are your fitness goals right now?
I will turn 39 in August 2019. I’m “training” now to be able to feel confident enough to compete in a competition before that birthday
What do you when you’re not at the gym?
I own a restoration company and I spend time with my 16 year-old son, and my sweet Mastiff Magnum. But really, I’d live at the box if I could.
